A cellular automata based spiking neuron model is presented in this paper. The base of this model is inspired from map-based Izhikevich neuron model. Proposed model can be implemented efficiently with low cost arithmetic units. Model behavior and the state transitions are discussed and it is shown that this model can exhibit biological neuron-like responses. Results are verified by comparing RTL simulations and the state transition of the proposed model with other similar models.
