Abstract:

This paper proposes a flickerless screen-camera communication method using interframe difference to reduce the bit error rate (BER) when the distance between the screen and the smartphone camera becomes long in screen-camera communications. The proposed method uses interframe difference to decode embedded information without interfering with the user's view. Through performance evaluation using an actual screen and a smartphone camera, we show that the proposed method reduces the BER when the communication distance becomes long.
