Abstract:
One of the key parameters of a permanent-magnet-synchronous-motor (PMSM) servo system is the inertia of the system. Since it changes during a control task, it is required to be identified in a real-time fashion so as to achieve satisfactory control performance. This paper presents an improved identification method based on a recursive least-squares (RLS) algorithm with a varying forgetting factor (VFFRLS). This method yields a good balance between identification precision and convergent speed.
