Abstract:
We previously showed that by detecting and analyzing the current pattern, a class of time synchronization schemes can be devised for BLE. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the performance of a time synchronization strategy from this class. The performance is evaluated in terms of number of nodes, workload of main processor, workload of main processor, and distance. We implement a measurement system and used extensive testbed experiments on BLE devices to study the performance of the time synchronization strategy under various scenarios. The result of our experiments shows that time synchronization based on the selected method can achieve accuracy of less than 17 μs in worst condition.
