Abstract:

The prevalent identification technique in existing results on adaptive control for PDEs is the "passive," also known as "observer-based" approach. However, it has so far not been used in boundary control problems. In this paper we prove a separation principle/certainty equivalence result for a class of backstepping boundary controllers applied to a class of unstable reaction-advection-diffusion PDEs in 3D.
