Abstract:
In this paper, aperiodic control of linear discrete-time systems subject to bounded additive disturbances is considered. We present a framework for event- and self-triggered controllers that achieve the same worst-case bounds on the system state (up to a predefined factor, which is a design parameter) as a given linear controller that is updated at every point in time. We demonstrate in an example that the proposed event- and self-triggered controllers achieve a considerable reduction in the communication rate even without increasing the guaranteed worst-case error bounds.
