Abstract:
The objective of this article is to study the views of secondary and high school physics-chemistry teachers regarding the use of PhET(Physics Education Technology) simulations in the teaching and learning of students. A qualitative research method was used in this study. We examined around 78 responses to a survey of physics teachers (38 middle schools and 40 high schools) working in public schools, to give an overview of who uses the PhET simulations, with which student populations, towards which educational objectives and with what scientific approaches. The data collected was analyzed by Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software. The results of this survey reveal, firstly, that most of the teachers questioned use simulations according to the investigation method in teaching physical sciences to achieve the objectives of multiple and flexible learning, secondly they highlight the presence of a set of factors that hinder the use of simulations in the classroom.
