Abstract:

The result of the research on development of clinching standoff that adopted collar drawing process technology was once presented. The collar drawing standoff was reported to do much better technical innovation than existing mechanical machining standoff at many areas, for instance, saving of raw materials, less weight, high productivity, excellent quality, environmental friendliness, labor saving and energy saving, etc. In particular, the collar drawing standoff can make change of designs in many forms that existing standoff has, and it has great advantage that it can take proper action to design and produce light weight, thin thickness and small sized industrial products. The collar drawing process technology, however, may produce burr because of characteristics of the process technology to have critical influence upon printed circuit board and to have limit at absorption of rotational torque as well as vibration because of structural weakness when fastening screws. This study has examined reverse drawing process development technology that has supplemented problems of the collar drawing process technology. In order to develop the reverse drawing standoff, product design, process planning, CAE analysis, specimen test, and the rectifications and comparisons of test results were implemented.
