Abstract:

The study introduces five exergames developed by researchers from Finland, Singapore, and Japan. These exergames utilize Microsoft Kinect motion detection sensors. The exergames were tested in Singapore in 2016. A total of 30 participants using exergames completed the six-week intervention study. In this study, we wanted to measure the changes in body functions and activities in elderly population who conducted exercise under three settings: (i) using exergame, (ii) using conventional exercise, and (iii) continuing everyday activities. The main outcome of this study measured with SPPB and Berg Balance Scale was that both types of exercise, game and conventional, were useful for elderly people's physical functioning.
