Abstract:

In last decades many techniques for fault tolerant system design in the field of reconfigurable hardware were presented. Some of them use the partial reconfiguration for the repair of component affected by the fault to extend the operational time of the system. The majority of these techniques is focused on transient fault mitigation which are more frequent. But the partial reconfiguration can be also used in permanent fault mitigation techniques. This paper presents a small flexible reconfiguration controller for driving the reconfiguration process after transient or permanent fault attack based on techniques described in our methodology [1]. The basic architecture together with the implementation and synthesis results and comparison with other solution are demonstrated.
