Abstract:

The resonant controllers offer significant advantages for control of power converters that operate with time-vary reference signals. However, this kind of control is affected by the errors introduced by discretization and quantization and may require floating-point Digital Signal Processors (DSP) for proper implementation. This paper addresses the issues related to the implementation of resonant current control using low-cost, 16-bit, fixed-point DSPs for cost-sensitive applications like the low-power residential microgrids. The performance of the proposed resonant controller is evaluated using a single-phase inverter that can be part of a grid-connected Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).
