Abstract:

In the paper, a clustering-based practical methodology to obtain the typically injected power profiles (TIPPs), which to help the DNOs in understanding the PV prosumers’ behaviour connected to the own networks, was proposed. The installed capacity and annual energy have been considered in the classification process using the K-means clustering algorithm. The TIPPs associated with each season (winter, spring, summer, and autumn) have been determined for the prosumers’ classes obtained in the clustering process. Testing has been done considering all PV prosumers belonging to the households’ category connected in the low voltage distribution networks of a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) from north-eastern Romania. Using the proposed methodology, the DNO can develop the best strategies in the optimal operation of the active distribution networks.
