Abstract:

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel DSP concept in bandwidth-oriented coherent receivers for flexible optical communication systems. A 7000-km transparent reach is achieved for a 56-GBd-PM-QPSK single channel transmission using a pair of 40-GSa/s oscilloscopes with 16-GHz optical front-ends.
