Abstract:

Using the GN model, we show that a maximum of 5–7 cores/fiber can be accommodated with 220pm cladding diameter for < 0.25dB Q degradation with 100Gbps PM-QPSK transmission over 6000–12000km reaches with bend radii of 50–200mm.
