Abstract:
We study the impact of different fibers with moderate pumping hybrid amplification in transparent networks using elastic transponders based on pure (PMF) or hybrid (TDHMF) modulation formats. TDHMF always over performs PMF. Advantages vary with Raman pumping and fiber type.
