Abstract:
We investigate the use of high-order MIMO to compensate inter-core crosstalk penalty over long-distance transmission using homogeneous single-mode multicore fibers. We show that the MIMO improves reach by 8% but may require excessive DSP resources and inter-core skew compensation.
