Abstract:

The highest relative core multiplicity factor and number of spatial channels are achieved simultaneously by employing 12 hexagonally arranged 10-mode cores in a 217\ \mu m cladding diameter, while obtaining better splice-induced differential modal attenuation than reported for 114-spatia/-channel fibre.
