Abstract:
We propose a simple polarization multiplexing and demultiplexing technique for intensity modulation and direct detection by using asymmetrical polarization synthesis in the receiver. We also experimentally verify its effectiveness in 25-Gbit/s DP-OOK and 50-Gbit/s DP-PAM4 signal transmission.
