Abstract:
We experimentally confirmed the crosstalk reduction effect of uniform twist along a multicore fiber for the first time. A 5.4-d8/km crosstalk reduction was achieved in a two-core fiber without remarkable loss increase when the twisting rate was a 2-πrad/m.
