Abstract:
Recent progress on spatial-mode amplifiers is reviewed with a viewpoint of differential modal gain (DMG). The cascaded EDF, advanced cladding pumping, and randomly coupled multi-core EDF would be key technology for realizing the low DMG characteristic.
