Abstract:

This paper describes how competition oriented projects can be used in electrical and electronic engineering subjects as a learning strategy. Here, it is described the development of robotic projects in the subject of printed circuit board design of the 3rd course of electrical and electronic engineering. Robotic projects can be considered as a complete task that include many different learning areas in the field of electronics. In order to obtain satisfactory results it is required an adequate definition of the project activities and learning results. Mini-sumo robot and line follower competitions are described as typical examples to be developed during a full semester.
