Abstract:

A set of one-dimensional basis functions is proposed and tested in order to model a thin homogeneous fiber of a higher conductivity within a medium with a lower conductivity. This set allows us to greatly speed up computations while keeping a good accuracy for the total fiber current and the resulting charge distribution averaged over the fiber cross-section.
