Abstract:
In the eyes of factory owners, energy management for their machines is becoming economically relevant. Most existing energy management systems use monolithic databases and low sample rates. This paper presents an approach that allows energy management on distributed modules. This yields the advantage of higher sample rates and information-based data exchange rather than transporting bulk raw data. In addition the distribution of control tasks on a neighbourhood level opens up new possibilities for energy management. Prototypical implementation results show the viability of the approach.
