Abstract:

In this work, we propose a nonlinear behavioral model for a ferrite-core inductor working up to magnetic saturation. The model is based on easy-to-measure electrical variables and contains a nonlinear conservative inductor and two linear resistors, which account for the instantaneous losses in both the windings and the core. The model identification is carried out through a few experimental measurements, by applying unbiased sinusoidal voltages to the inductor.
