Abstract:
A broadband power pattern synthesis technique for arbitrary array, taking the mutual coupling (MC) into account, is proposed based on a weighted L2 norm criterion. The MC effect is considered by introducing a MC matrix, and can be compensated if an accurate MC matrix is available. Firstly the non-convex objective function is transformed into a linear one with an auxiliary function. A technique which jointly performs the phases and weighting functions correction is applied to control the pattern shape. For a given array, the MC matrix is calculated only once since it only depends on the radiating characteristics of the elements, the geometries of array and also on frequency. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed technique.
