Abstract:
The Internet of Things systems consist of devices, sensors, and services that enable tangible objects to gather and transmit information about the physical world. In order to deliver their main functionality, some of these systems collect a very significant amount of data obtained from their sensors located in living spaces and office environments. This data may hide some interesting behavioral patterns of individuals. This work aims to design an experimental system for sensor data collection, prototype a framework for inferring such patterns from the collected data, and examine the implications of this technology to the privacy of individuals.
