Abstract:
This paper realizes a motion effect in our bobsleigh VR by applying swing motion to a player. In real bobsleigh rides, large inertial force is applied to the player during curve sections. Here, we limit the force expressed in VR only to the player’s left-right direction because the force acting in the front-back direction is small enough to ignore and the downward force is too large to express in usual VR systems. A hammock is utilized because it is easy and suitable to express sliding motion on cylindrical track surface. Effects of swing motion are also evaluated based on questionnaire surveys.
