Centralization of high-quality cultivated land is the basic requirement to demarcate the basic farmland. However, the importance of centralized consolidation is often ignored when the basic farmland is actually demarcated. Based on the density estimation of the cultivated land quality data using the Kernel density estimation to generate a relatively continuous and smooth density grade distribution map, it is convenient to identify the centralized high quality cultivated land, in order to assist the basic farmland to delimit the decision-making. A basic farmland classification scheme based on kernel density estimation and cultivated land quality is put forward in this paper. Based on the study area of Fushan Town, Zongyang County, it is proven that the scheme is efficient and feasible. The basic farmland is not only guaranteed the overall scale index and the quality of the cultivated land, but also ensures the connectivity in the space.
