Abstract:

In wideband CDMA systems, downlink capacity is limited by distortion in orthogonal codes, causing multiple access interference. This paper presents a multi-frame scheduling method to reduce the number of simultaneous transmissions, thereby increasing capacity. To avoid wasting resources where there is insufficient demand, a buffer management tool is proposed to match the delivered rate to the arrival rate. Simulation results suggest that this gives up to 55% improvement in delivered bit-rate over a single-frame approach.
