Abstract:

This paper describes the development of the methodology for Robust Design Optimization based on 3D tools for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles. The specifications for the design are picked up from the Scope Statement incorporating the mission requirements, including the guidance and navigation specifications. The methodology incorporates the Database of components to achieve the mission, the links, both internal and external to provide a clash-free arrangement of the components. Polygon Optimization is utilised for internal arrangement. Numerical results are presented for an actual case.
