Abstract:
Electrical/optical hybrid networks have been proposed in datacenter to provide high bandwidth and low power consumption. Because the setup of an optical channel usually takes a long time, which may lead to a high rejection of connections that require low delays, routing algorithms should be properly designed to consider the limitations of optical devices in the hybrid networks. This paper focuses on the routing problem of the datacenter electrical/optical hybrid networks, and proposes an integer linear programming (ILP) model for the problem. In addition, a heuristic algorithm is also invented for large scale problems. Simulation results show that the heuristic algorithm can obtain a close performance to the optimal solution of the ILP method.
