In recent years, human enthusiasm for exploring the moon has gradually increased, and China has also made continuous achievements in the field of lunar exploration. The lunar communication network, as an important infrastructure to support activities on the lunar surface, has become a research hotspot for various space powers. Aiming at the problems of how to design the system architecture of lunar surface communication network (LSCN), the development trend of cislunar space communication system among major space powers is investigated and analyzed. The feasibility of the application of terrestrial mobile communication technology on the lunar surface is analyzed, the protocol scheme of the LSCN based on the convergence of simplified 5G and Wi-Fi is obtained, and the basic communication protocol framework, routing method, and protocol characteristics are proposed. Finally, the development research suggestions are given around how to build LSCN, and the future development direction is prospected.
