Abstract:

Quality regulation is relatively new. The main task of quality regulation is finding a trade-off between the cost and benefit of quality. In the open market environment the interests of customers are placed at the forefront. The possibility to purchase electricity at lower rates on one hand, and the effort to achieve better quality of electricity on the other, are two contradicting requirements that need a compromise. As far as this matter is concerned, it is necessary to satisfy three basic categories pertaining to the quality of electricity supply related to the quality of service, reliability of supply and voltage quality, which sometimes poses big challenge for the system operator since the power system operates in the stochastic environment. This paper discusses the need to classify reliability performance considering some causes of interruptions in continuity of supply in the BiH transmission network, taking into consideration reliability indices oriented towards load and energy.
