Abstract:
Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) is one of the key transmission techniques in 5G wireless communications. However, the complexity of massive MIMO detector is extremely high. Traditional matched filter (MF) detector is attractive in its low complexity but with severe performance degradation. In this paper, for massive MIMO with QPSK modulation, we propose an improved MF detection scheme by combining MF and successive interference cancellation (SIC). Simulation results show that the proposed MF-SIC detection scheme outperforms conventional MF, achieves better performance than traditional ZF detector and similar performance of MMSE detector at low SNR regions with much lower complexity.
