Abstract:
In recent years, the damage caused by malware targeting vulnerable IoT devices is increasing. Under such circumstances, Mirai, which has the function of self-spreading and performing a large-scale DDoS attack on the target, attracted a great deal of attention. In this paper, we modeled the infection phenomenon of Mirai using the agent oriented Petri net PN2. We also carried out quantitative evaluation of countermeasures when taking into consideration the network structure of the IoT device and the effective arrangement of Hajime which is a worm with no capability of performing DDoS.
