Abstract:

This paper introduces a real-time Full HD@120Hz frame rate up-conversion system implemented on multiple FPGAs (FRC-FPGA). Since FRC-FPGA works like as FRC-IC in TV, we can display the interpolated frames, in real-time, which FRC-FPGA generates. Therefore, we can evaluate the performance of FRC-FPGA by directly comparing it with commercial TVs. For more improvement, we propose several FRC algorithms, and as a result, FRC-FPGA has an advantage over commercial TVs.
