Abstract:
Regarded as one of the future gateways to nanobot communication and Internet of Bio-Nano Things (IoBNT) on the biological and nanoscale level, Molecular Communication (MC) can open gates to applications in environmental protection, bioremediation and healthcare amongst endless possibilities. Being a communication system, it still requires error correction and detection capabilities similar to conventional electromagnetic systems. Based on Error Correcting Codes proposed in the literature relating to MC, this paper presents a simple survey and comparison between all the proposed error correction coding techniques and evaluate them in terms of their complexity and error correction capability.
