Abstract:
Hybrid division duplex (HDD) can be a key technology for new Heterogeneous Network (HetNet) architectures based on two-tier frequency division duplex (FDD) macro-cell and time division duplex (TDD) femtocell deployments. We propose coordinated interference management techniques that work in the presence of uplink power control in HDD to further enhance network performance. The proposed mechanisms are modeled by spatial random distributions. Our modeling highlights subtle differences between the uplink and downlink analyses. We capture the effects of our interference mitigation mechanisms over the whole network by a spatial random process called a Cox process.
