Abstract:

It is of significant importance for the upcoming 5G system to efficiently support diverse services including enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) and ultra-reliable and low-latency communications (URLLC). In this paper, we provide a holistic view of prioritized URLLC use cases and requirements from operation perspective. Based on enabled technologies in New Radio (NR) Release 15, we analyses and evaluate the latency and reliability performance for single user system. In addition to single user performance, we further focus on multiplexing of multiple users and various services. An on-demand scheduling method for intra-UE multiplexing is proposed which maximize system spectral efficiency on basis of satisfying requirements for various traffic types within a typical user. As for inter-UE multiplexing, we present an uplink preemptive scheduling mechanism to guarantee the performance of URLLC with minimum standardization impact.
