Abstract:

A 28 nm bulk CMOS line driver stacking 18 core devices in a pseudo-differential configuration operates from a 8.1 V supply and achieves a bandwidth of 3.1 GHz for 1.32 W DC power consumption. An average P1dB of 22.3 dBm and OIP3 of 32.6 dBm is measured over a baseband bandwidth of 2 GHz. Under saturated conditions, a 13 Vpp signal with 40% PAE can be generated. During OFDM modulated communication a net rate of 12.5 Gbps is measured over 45.7 m of RG6 coax, and 7.1 Gbps over 200m.
