Many factors influence the implementation of transport processes. Continuity and efficiency of transport tasks require a high level of readiness and reliability of the owned fleet. Proper and effective vehicle management involves rational use, proper diagnosis, maintenance and repair. One of the key components of vehicles, in case of which early detection of potential abnormalities is extremely important, is the braking system.This article presents the analysis of wear of selected components of the braking system on the example of annual observations of vehicles carrying out transport tasks in different load conditions. The objective was to examine the significance of the influence of selected factors on the degree of brake wear, as well as to present possible methods to be used in this area. Due to the form of the data made available, nonparametric statistical tests were used. The conducted research also allowed to indicate possible directions of optimization of transport processes. The presented method can be applied to other components of motor vehicles as well.
