Abstract:
The evolution of the 5G mobile network with functional decomposition and increased flexibility allows not only a decentralized architecture that allows a subset of core network functionality to be placed on the network edge, but also improving granularity of session-level QoS or mobility management. From this perspective, we propose PMIPv6 based distributed session mobility scheme for enhancing granularity of session mobility level. In our proposal, sessions of a mobile node can be provided different level of continuity and reachability depending on their using IP address anchored to different user plane anchors.
