Abstract:

We present a novel approach to the 3D imaging sensors fabrication for electrical capacitance process tomography. We demonstrate how to 3D computer modelling and 3D printing to build sensors of various geometry and electrode layout including different shielding. The described method is more flexible and accurate in comparison to classical hand-made approach applied in research and pilot studies. We develop the concept with Blender 3D modeling software and then transfer the design to a 3D printer (entire models as well as part-printing is possible).
