Abstract:

In this paper, we presented a novel low-profile differentially feeding dual-polarized antenna adopting wideband artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) reflector for the fifth generation (5G) base-station communications. There are some winding inductors arranged at both ends of the cross slots, which result in a small-size radiating patch as well as a wide bandwidth. Both impedance bandwidths of 47.3% (3.28-5.31 GHz) and 47.2% (3.29-5.32 GHz) can be achieved for Ports I and II, respectively. Due to differentially feeding scheme, a high port isolation of below -40 dB during the working frequency band is obtained. In addition, thanks to the AMC structure, the profile of proposed antenna can be reduced from 18 to 9.5 mm (0.13λc, λc is the free-space wavelength at the center frequency).
