Abstract:
Due to high cost of procuring, maintaining, and upgrading computing devices, organizations tend to look for alternatives in reducing the amount of money spend on software and hardware devices. Some organizations opt for leasing hardware devices to ensure that computing resources are abreast, create predictable expenses and keep pace with competitors. However, this approach comes with intrinsic challenges ranging from getting refurbished devices to non-performing devices. Moreover, clients can be locked-in through switching costs, which can result into an unending cycle that tends to become less cost-effective. The introduction of an optimized remote access in this paper proffers an amenable solution in cutting costs of technology upgradation by using a mobile arm computing device to remotely access computing resources from cloud. The practical implementation of the proposed system architecture in this study can boast effective means of cost and energy savings in a computing environment.
