Abstract:

Visible light communication (VLC) is a promising technology for indoor scenarios, with high-speed and security. And as VLC adopts the unlicensed spectrum, it can be a key technology of future generation communication networks, to avoid the shortage of radio frequency resources. Recently, the non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technique has been proposed for VLC. NOMA can achieve high spectral efficiency using frequency and time resources. NOMA can simultaneously transmit signals of both near-user and far-user in the same time and frequency by adopting superposition coding. In this study, we focused on the bit error rates of two users in a user-pair in terms of perfect SIC and imperfect SIC and showed the balanced power ratio to consider both the near and far users in terms of reliability.
