Abstract:

With the rapid development of information technology, connected autonomous vehicles can exchange driving information with nearby vehicles through vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication, so as to identify whether they are in deadlock conditions. Help the current deadlock vehicle get rid of deadlock by coordinating the lane changes of nearby vehicles. But they only considered the deadlock problem of deadlock vehicles in their current road section. When the number of vehicles continues to increase, frequent lane changes will not only increase the risk of collisions, but also reduce the traffic efficiency. Therefore, we propose a Mutually Beneficial Cooperative Driving (MBCD) strategy from the perspective of the whole road. It aims to improve traffic efficiency by reducing the frequency of deadlock vehicles being deadlocked again after the deadlock is released. When the high-speed vehicle is deadlocked, let the high-speed vehicle change to the same lane as much as possible, while the low-speed vehicles that cause traffic congestion remain in other lanes. In the SUMO simulator, the proposed strategy in terms of speed efficiency and arrival time were evaluated. The simulation results show that proposed MBCD can further improve the speed efficiency and reduce the arrival time, solving the traffic congestion caused by the deadlock of high-speed vehicles.
