Abstract:
In this paper, we demonstrate a photonic-enabled wireless data transmission, operating at 73 GHz carrier wave, generated by optical heterodyne technique. Through modulation in the photonic domain, using a 10 GHz bandwidth optical modulator, we show the transmission of two different types of signals. On one hand, a 1080 HDMI video signal coded in 2.970 Gbit/s OOK signal from a HDTV camera, and on the other, a 4K video signal coded as an DVB-T 16-QAM-OFDM signal with error below FEC-limit (BER < 10−3). In both scenarios, successful real-time video transmission is achieved.
