Abstract:

Passive infrared sensors (PIR) are low power and cost effective devices for motion detection. In this paper we propose a realistic mathematical model for calculation of PIR signal for objects with certain parameters moving along the specified trajectories. The calculated signal corresponds to experimental measurements with 93% accuracy. The model may be used for building of advanced motion detection algorithms and for recovering of moving objects' parameters from PIR signals.
