Abstract:
This paper introduces a sliding mode control for an embedded power system such as electrical naval propulsion. This propulsion uses a Doubly Fed Induction Machine (DFIM), working in motor mode and supplied by two Stator and Rotor Voltage Source Inverters (VSIs). First the DFIM model and its control strategy are detailed; next the propeller load torque emulator is introduced electrical propulsion taking into account the specificity of the sea. So, the authors propose a specific power part architecture which ensures the continuity of service of the engine in case of switch short circuit of one of VSIs. The originality of the proposed solution is explained. SABER simulation results are presented and discussed and the “pseudo-experimentation” methodology is applied to validate the performances of the studied system.
